Benito Bowl Recap

The Seahawks weren’t the only big winners at the 2026 Superbowl, with Bad Bunny making history as the “first artist to perform a halftime show entirely in Spanish, as well as becoming the first Latin solo act to take on one of the world’s most coveted gigs,” according to The Independent. This was the first halftime show performance for the rapper and singer Bad Bunny, full name Benito Antonio Martínez Ocasio.

The performance was made up of several of Bad Bunny’s original songs, including “Tití Me Preguntó,” “Yo Perreo Sola,” “Safaera,” “Party,” “Voy a Llevarte Pa’ PR,” “EoO,” “Monaco,” “BAILE INoLVIDABLE,” “NUEVAYoL,” “El Apagón” and “CAFé CON RON,” according to USA Today. He closed the show with “DtMF,” the title song from his full length album, DeBÍ TiRAR MáS FOToS,” which was released in 2025. Bad Bunny brought out Lady Gaga and Ricky Martin to perform with him, and other celebrities made cameos by joining in on the celebrations. Lady Gaga performed a “salsa-style version” of her duet hit “Die With a Smile” and Ricky Martin sang a cover of Bad Bunny’s “Lo Que le Pasó a Hawaii,” according to The New York Times

The full performance featured an array of messages, symbolism and intricate details. Bad Bunny moved through a sugar cane field, a bodega, food carts, a parade, his signature “La Casita” and made his way on top of a utility pole. The performance was tied up with a powerful message of unity and love with the screen behind Bad Bunny displaying “THE ONLY THING MORE POWERFUL THAN HATE IS LOVE.”

The performance was shown live on various social media platforms, with users posting videos of their families laughing, crying and dancing while viewing the performance. Several TikTok's went viral of the emotional reactions viewers had when hearing their countries shouted out by Bad Bunny

The full halftime show was posted on the NFL’s YouTube channel with currently over 100 million views. According to Billboard, the live performance reached multiple top charts and millions of streams in the first week of its release to music streaming platforms.
