Meredith’s “First Dog,” Bachelor, Dies

On Wednesday, March 30, Meredith College social media pages posted an update to the Meredith community to let them know of the passing of Bachelor. Bachelor, affectionately called the “First Dog” of Meredith, was owned by Meredith College President Jo Allen and loved by many within the Meredith College community.


Prior to his death, Bachelor was a frequent guest in Meredith’s annual holiday video and Giving Day posts.


The Meredith Herald extends its condolences to President Allen on the loss of Bachelor.
