Upcoming Campus Wellness Events
Meredith College Student Wellness will be hosting three events on campus in the upcoming months: a drug take-back, a vaccine clinic and a RECHARGE pop-up energy lab.
On Wednesday, Sept. 30, Student Wellness will be hosting a vaccine clinic and a medication disposal event on campus. In Chess 137, between 9 a.m. and 1 p.m., both flu and COVID-19 vaccines will be available; registration information is available in the Halo Happenings newsletter. Drug take-back will be from 10 a.m. till 12 p.m. in the front drive of the Oaks, or in the lobby on the first floor in the event of rain. If someone is in possession of unused or expired prescription medication, it is important to practice safe disposal. According to the FDA, the most accessible way to do this is through medication take-back programs like this one. Please note that liquids, needles, vapes, and e-cigarettes will not be accepted at drop-off, and only medication in capsule or pill form will be accepted.
On Friday, Oct. 23, Student Wellness is hosting RECHARGE: a pop-up energy lab. From 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the Cate Center, attendees will have the opportunity to check in with their ‘battery.’ Once students figure out what percentage they’re at, they will be given practical tricks and tools to keep their battery charged and energy protected throughout the rest of the semester. For students feeling like they’re on low power mode, pop by and learn how to get charged and stay charged, even through exam season.
