The 2024 Dreamville Festival will take place in Raleigh on Apr. 6 and 7 at Dorothea Dix Park. According to the Dreamville website’s about page, the Dreamville Festival is a large music event held every spring as a celebration of Black-owned music and to emphasize diversity and inclusivity. Dreamville was created in 2018 by J.Cole, a rapper from Fayetteville, North Carolina, to have a reunion of the artists under Dreamville Records including J.I.D, Earthgang, and Ari Lennox, as well as to highlight North Carolina, where he is from.
The Dreamville Instagram account posted that the 2024 headliners will be R&B singers SZA and Chris Brown on Saturday, Apr. 6, followed by rappers J.Cole and Nicki Minaj on Apr. 7. Other artists on Apr. 6 include famous rappers Lil Yachty and Sexxy Red along with Teezo Touchdown, an alternative R&B singer. On Apr. 7, there will be performances by the famous rap duo Rae Sremmurd along with rappers Key Glock and Jeezy (a former member of the 2003 rap group Boyz n da Hood).
At the Dreamville Festival, seating is on a first-come, first-served basis in the viewing areas, and there is accessible viewing for those with disabilities available in designated areas. There are also accessible entry ramps at both the east and west entrances; however, it is recommended that guests use the west entry ramp since it is more accessible. When entering the festival, it is recommended that guests be mindful and considerate of those around them to avoid things getting out of hand. In the frequently asked questions (FAQs) page of the Dreamville website, it is also recommended that guests use the buddy system and stay with at least one other person to keep each other and their belongings safe. Other safety tips include having emergency contact information on hand, staying hydrated and bringing sun protection. It is also suggested that guests bring hearing protection like earplugs. Personal protection like earplugs will be provided by Guest Services because the music and festivities will get loud.
There are five categories of tickets available for those looking to attend this year’s Dreamville Festival. General admission tickets are the least expensive, priced at $299.99, and allow access to live music performances as well as food choices, including local restaurants and various bars and concessions. General admission ticket holders will have access to both festival entrances and have opportunities to take pictures and experience other art activations. The MVP VIP tickets, which are the most expensive and cost $1999.99, include all the amenities involved in the general admission tickets and also provide MVP VIP ticket holders with a dedicated entrance, bar, restrooms, and viewing area. These ticket holders also get access to the premium viewing deck and are gifted a Dreamville Fest hat and bandana.
