Join the Office of International Programs (OIP) at this year’s study abroad fair! The event will be hosted from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Sept. 24 in the Belk Dining Hall (BDH) courtyard. Elizabeth Yaros, Senior Associate Director of International Programs says that it is the office's “biggest study abroad event of the year.”
Yaros noted that at the event, students can learn more about the faculty-led programs for the spring, fall and summer. In addition, topics about scholarship opportunities and financial aid opportunities for these programs will also be available. Yaros added that Meredith has “outstanding study abroad scholarships and generous financial aid policies” and programs like the fall semester in Italy “has multiple scholarship awards of $5,000!”
Emma Kate Segedy, who studied abroad in Italy for the Italian Life and Culture program shared her positive experiences and believes that studying abroad helps people “become comfortable with the uncomfortable, grow in your cultural knowledge, become more confident in yourself, and make lifelong friends.” She also shared that her time in Sansepolcro were “the best weeks of [her] life.”
To begin the process, Yaros encourages students to use their website to explore options and learn more about the study abroad process. With a variety of program offers and earning opportunities, the event will be a good step to getting the process started.
