On Monday, Feb. 15, Meredith’s Biology Department hosted an informational webinar about the COVID-19 virus and vaccine. There will be another webinar this Friday, Feb. 19 at 10 a.m.; Meredith students, faculty, staff and alumnae are welcome to attend. According to Biology Department Head Dr. Jason Andrus, the webinar is “a 20 minute pre-recorded video with information regarding the current pandemic, an overview of the virus and how it works and a discussion about vaccines, specifically the current ones against the SARS-CoV-2 virus.” The pre-recorded video is followed by a live Q&A panel featuring Dr. Andrus, Dr. Carolina Perez-Heydrich and Dr. Karthik Aghoram, and other members of the Meredith Biology Department faculty.

Students are encouraged to attend Friday’s presentation in order to learn more about COVID-19. The webinar “is done at a level so that viewers with little to no Biology or Public Health background can understand...so we are targeting a general audience,” Dr. Andrus says. Attendees must register through Zoom using the link embedded in the event flyer below, or click here for the registration link for Friday, Feb. 19 session at 10 a.m.
